Sirius of the Week for Apr. 29 - May 5, 2001
This week we're featuring Neffi (short for Nefertiti). You can see
her below with one of her puppies. (Actually, there is a second
puppy right in front of Neffi, but he blends in so well, that it's
almost impossible to see him!)
If Neffi looks a bit tired, it's for a good reason. She had a litter
of 11 puppies. When this picture was taken, the puppies were being
weaned, but keeping after them still meant a lot of work for Neffi.
But she was given a lot of love and care by her person,
who has raised Labrador Retriever puppies before. All 11 puppies
quickly found homes, and now Neffi has retired from being a mom,
and is back to her usual, energetic self.
