Sirius of the Week for Dec. 30, 2007 - Jan. 5, 2008
Our Star is Diesel, and his person says,
"This is Diesel; he is an Alaskan Malamute. He's only a month old in the
pictures below. These dogs are often mistaken for Huskies, but they luckly don't
have the same natural destructive instinct as Huskies.
"Despite looking scary -- because Alaskan Malamutes become very, very large --
they are totally friendly and very affectionate. They don't get along with
other dogs, however, because they always prefer the company of humans. From
pulling sledges they get too big for most other dogs anyway.
"When I'm walking Diesel, he always tries to play with other dogs passing by.
Occasionaly some of their owners says it's OK to let them play, and then Diesel
jumps on them and completely flattens them -- ha ha!!!"
