Sirius of the Week for July 15 - 21, 2007
This week we feature Edgar, and our submitter writes,
"This is my mom's dog, Edgar, smiling for us.
He is half doxie and half poodle. Isn't he cute! He has attitude -- or I
say 'battitude?'
"Edgar is 5 years old. I got him one Christmas for my mom as she had
mentioned she would like to get a dog. We have always raised Doxies
[Dachshunds], but there were none available in our area around
Christmas time, except for a Doxie Poodle mix -- so we got him.

"He has been the love of her life since. He is named after our
favorite baseball player Edgar Martinez from the Mariners. Edgar is
spoiled and will not eat dog food. He sits up at the table and gets
to eat from his own plate. He really likes it when my mom cooks him
rice, veggies and chicken, turkey or beef. He is a meat hound.
loves meat. Sometimes he will let us hand feed him dog food, but not
often. If he is hungry he will snot and snort and carry on until my
mom gets him something to eat. Edgar loves to play tug o' war with
my moms slippers. He will growl and carry on. He is a sweet dog and
life would not be the same without him."
