Sirius of the Week for August 7 - 13, 2005

This week our Sirius is Captain, and his person writes,

"Captain is a 4 year old Doberman who was a rescue. I'm his 5th and final owner! His first owners were a couple of college students who thought they could raise him in their dorm. His second owner was in the military and was shipped off to Iraq. His third owners were a family of 4; and when Captain began to get bigger, they got rid of him for fear that he would harm one of their children. His fourth owner apparently had him teathered to a pole in his backyard. Judging from the scars on his right ear and the very large scar on his nub, this owner chopped off his tail and attempted to crop his ears :( Captain was already 1 1/2 years old when this all took place. He was dropped off at a shelter when he was 2, and that's when I found him. I've had him a little over 2 years.

"As far as food is concerned, Captain likes anything I'm eating. He loves cheese and bacon, as I imagine most dogs do. He like playing with tennis balls although he's very uncoordinated!"
