Sirius of the Week for March 13 - 19, 2005

Miles' "unkie" shares Miles' story:

Miles just reached his 15th birthday last month (February). He is pure beagle from head to stomach to tail, and has lived with his 'hoomin' since he was two months old. He and his brother, Duncan, were born on a small ranch outside of Jacksonville, Florida. Duncan went to the RainbowBridge three years ago.

Miles has been a constant companion to his hoomin and has enjoyed moving from Florida to Vermont and back again. While in Vermont he had some severe behavior/aggression problems, but with good advice from the nice folks in Rochester NY and love and patience from his hoomin he managed to regain control and has been a happy, active and very affectionate alpha to his pack. He now lovingly rules his pack of five, known as The Baskerbeagles of Howling Acres.

Recently, Miles had extensive dental work resulting in some vacancies in his smile! Now, despite having to chew minus sixteen teeth, he has renewed energy and appetite. He behaves well and takes pleasure in entertaining the pack with his beautiful bass voice, as well as serenading the squirrels in 'his' woods.

Things Miles likes to do: eat, take leisurely walks in the woods, see how big he can make himself in the middle of the bed, watch his pack play, and cuddle with his 'unkie.' He also enjoys his 'private naps' with his blankie.
