Sirius of the Week for April 23 - 29, 2000.
This week we start a series of Terriers, beginning with Blue Denims
Unknown Spirit. She is a 16 month old Kerry Blue Terrier.
Spirit is a very affectionate, very playful dog. But, as you can see,
she can be very focused on her handler when she needs to be. She
will be going into the ring in just a few moments, so she has to
be ready to concentrate.
Kerry Blue Terriers normally stand between 17 and 20 inches high at
the withers and weigh between 30 and 40 pounds. They are muscular
dogs with fairly long legs, and a short, straight tail. They have
long heads, with small dark eyes that are not prominent. Their
ears are small and V-shaped. Their coats are soft, dense, and wavy.
The color of their coats should be any shade of blue gray or gray blue
from the deep slate to light blue gray, although some black parts
may appear on the head, tail, and feet.
