Sirius of the Week for Jan. 26 - Feb. 1, 2003

This week we feature Sadie. Her person mom writes,

"Sadie, CGC, is an 18-month old mixed breed. We adopted her when she was 7 weeks old from a no-kill shelter. Sadie came into our life five months after we lost our dog of 14 years, Daisy. I believe Sadie was a gift to teach me to laugh again. And she certainly does make me laugh.

"Sadie prides herself on her mischievous behavior. One of her funniest stories is when she used a towel on the handle of the refrigerator, pulled open the door, and pulled out a leftover meatloaf and ate every last bit. The only thing left was the aluminum foil it was wrapped in. I feel like I have a toddler in the house, because I'm always checking to see if there's anything Sadie can get into. But even with all the the mischief, Sadie is the sweetest, most personable dog I have ever known.

"Her biggest accomplishment came in November when, after lots of training, she passed her CGC test, which makes her eligible to become a therapy dog. As a therapy dog, she will be visiting nursing homes and hospitals to spread some of her love and happiness with others.

"Sadie is indeed the star of my life!"
