Sirius of the Week for January 6 - 12, 2002
Meet Big'un. He came from
Angel-Lite Maltese.
He was born on April 10, 2001. His fancy
pedigree name is Angel-Lite Chance's Cadmiel.
Big'un says,
I came from Angel-Lite Maltese (Secret: They have
some cuter puppies than me, but don't tell Mom, she
thinks there's no one like me. Visit their website
and see what you think.)
- My dad's name was Chance of Windsong and I
want to grow up to be just like Dad.
- She got the "Cadmiel" from an angel's name who
was implemented in the destiny of humans. His task
was to make sure that everyone accomplished his own
destiny. His favorite sentence was: "if the soul
goes to the right, don't go to the left." That
pretty much sums up Mom's philosophy on life of "if
it feels right, do it - or trust your instincts". I
feel like I've pretty much lived up to my
name. I've helped her fulfill her destiny of
owning me, haven't I?
So - why does Mom call me "Big'un"? Well, she
tells everyone it's because for such a little scrap
of a dog (she considers 4 pounds little- humph), I
seem to think I'm a "big'un". You're darn tooting I
am.
Big'un's favorite toy is his squeaky carrots -- and anything
of his mom's he finds on the floor that he can drag to
his "spot". It seems she's developed a new place to
"store" her shoes and knows just where to find them.
Luckily he doesn't chew on them, just drags them
around. He's also known for getting on the bed and
hiding whatever paperback book his person-mom happens to be
reading at the time. This is particularly annoying
if he hides the book and she can't find it to read the
ending. Another particular "joy" of his is shredding
paper.... any paper.... and heaven help ya if a roll
of toilet tissue gets left in floor.
He also considers the cats who share his home and Gretchen, the German
shephard, as his toys. He delights in antagonizing
the cats but they're learning he's harmless and
generally ignore him - except for Crook, the white
cat who enjoys a tussel with him. Gretchen has a
hard time walking through the house because of Big'un. He stays
right in her face.... bouncing up and down barking.
His favorite food is anything his person-mom is
eating. He particularly likes cheese curls. His mom
doesn't often give him "people" food because if she gave
him some, the cats would expect it too and with 6
cats she'd have nothing left for herself. But sometimes
he begs so prettily, she can't help but give him a taste.
You can visit Big'un at his own
web page.
